Judge rocked a double to left and Chisholm followed up with a walk, and the House That Jeter Built was once again rocking. But Treinen got Stanton to fly out and struck out Anthony Rizzo, stranding Judge and Chisholm and stymying what ended up being the Yankees’ best shot at getting back in the game.< https://facebookanswerman.com/ /p>

The next batter, catcher Will Smith, grounded one to Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe who tried to throw out the runner at third but couldn’t as all runners advanced safely. Volpe was given an error on the play.

“We did go through a lot, but I’ll say we still had the best record in all of baseball this year,” Roberts said. “It wasn’t easy, but our guys fought and played every day the right way, played to win. There was a lot of backfilling on talent because of injury, a lot of young players cut their teeth, which is good. But one thing is that we just kept going.”

8:56 p.m. — Tommy Edman draws a four-pitch walk against Clarke Schmidt to begin the third inning. Ohtani will come up with one on and nobody out, and this could be the first opportunity to see if his shoulder injury is affecting his swing at all.

The New York Film Critics Circle, one of the nation’s oldest and most venerated critics’ groups, is kicking movie awards season into high gear Tuesday as they select their choices for the best of 2024.

In the United States, the fate of district winners varies widely from state to state. In some larger states such as Pennsylvania, New York, and California, the district winners advance to one of many sectional tournaments. The winners of each sectional tournament then advance to a state or divisional tournament, the latter only being held in Texas and California and are similar to the state tournaments held in less populous states. Most smaller states lack competition at the sectional level and go straight from district to state tournaments. A handful of states are composed of only one district, and the district champion is the automatic state champion.

Initially, only teams from the United States competed in the Series, but it has since become a worldwide tournament. The tournament has gained popular renown, especially in the United States, where games from the Series and even from regional tournaments are broadcast on ESPN. Teams from the United States have won a plurality of the series, although from 1969 to 1991 teams from Taiwan dominated the series, winning in 15 out of those 23 years. From 2010 through 2017, teams from Japan similarly dominated the series, winning five of those matchups.

Two venues host World Series games: Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Little League Volunteer Stadium. Lamade Stadium has hosted games since 1959 and added lights in 1992. Volunteer Stadium opened in 2001 when the field expanded to 16 teams. Prior to 1959, the Little League World Series was held at Original Little League on West Fourth Street in Williamsport.

The state champions (as well as the Northern California, Southern California, Texas East, Texas West, and District of Columbia teams) compete in one of ten different regional tournaments (increasing from 8 in 2022). Each regional tournament winner then advances to the Little League World Series. A comprehensive breakdown of current and historical US regional tournament locations, participants and results is available online. Since the geographical boundaries of the District of Columbia are exactly the same as the capital city of Washington, this District is usually identified specifically as “Washington, DC.”

I think The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall is one of those games that people can ‘project’ themselves on. It does so many things and allows so many play styles that people can easily imagine what type of person they’d like to be in game.

Space-based open-world games take this even further, offering maps so large that it would take more than a lifetime to fully explore them. As this genre evolves, game maps are becoming not only larger but also more detailed, packed with quests, secrets, and dynamic environments. This updated list features some of the biggest and most overlooked open-world games with truly massive map sizes.

Fallout 4 is one of Bethesda’s biggest entries in the Fallout series. Though it’s a bit different to the traditional Bethesda RPG formula, Fallout 4 offers a huge map with multiple locations, some of which aren’t even marked on the map.

Sometimes we want nothing more than a massive landscape to frolic across, doing as we please for as long as we want. While quantity does not always equal quality, a massive open world is an easy way to fulfill that wish. Be it for the purposes of exploration, an overabundance of content, or simply because the developers wanted to show off, there have been some truly massive open world created for video games over the years.

Yankees: A third-inning exit from Clarke Schmidt forced the Yanks to use seven relievers in Game 3, but with elimination possible, all hands will be considered on deck. Mark Leiter Jr., Jake Cousins and Tim Hill each threw 17 pitches in Game 3, with Nestor Cortes (15), Clay Holmes (12), Tommy Kahnle (11) and Luke Weaver (six) all seeing duty. The only rostered pitcher who has not seen the mound yet this postseason is Marcus Stroman.

For the Yankees, getting outfielder Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres proved to be crucial, as his clutch extra-inning home run in Game 5 of the ALCS helped his team secure a spot in the World Series.

“Obviously, we’re in a tough position,” Cole had said prior to the 11-4 victory at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night, “but there’s a lot of baseball left to be played and anything can happen. We’re excited to get back out there. Hey, we’re still in the World Series. Hey, we’re in the Bronx. We’ve still got a shot at this thing.”
