• The Dodgers and Yankees had a World Series preview June 7-9 at Yankee Stadium, with Los Angeles winning two of the three games. Teoscar Hernández had a go-ahead, two-run double in the 11th inning of the first game, a 2-1 Dodgers win, then hit two homers in an 11-3 rout the next night. The Yanks salvaged the finale with a 6-4 win, powered by Trent Grisham’s three-run homer off Tyler Glasnow.
The 2000 New York Yankees faced the Mets in the first World Series played entirely in New York since 1956. The Yankees defeated the Mets four games to one to win their 26th World Series Championship. Shortstop Derek Jeter won the World Series’ Most Valuable Player award after winning the Most Valuable Player award in the All-Star Game in the same year.
Star wars open world game
“I think it’s taken this long to get an open-world Star Wars game because of how, excuse the pun, massive it is to build a game like this,” Lucasfilm’s director of franchise content and strategy, Steve Blank, tells IGN. “There are only so many studios in the world who build games of this scale. The door is then open for Massive to come to us and say, this is what we’re interested in doing, this is the type of game design and gameplay we want. This is what we’re thinking about in terms of an archetype.”

Does Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga attempt to revolutionise the tried and tested TT blueprint for the PS5/Xbox Series X era? Of course not. Why would it? But it’s easily the most ambitious entry yet, and while what you get here is a package that feels comfortingly nostalgic, the introduction of open-world gameplay and a series of modern enhancements mean Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga should appeal to longtime series fans and newcomers alike.
Yes, she can sneak up behind a stormtrooper or guard and knock them out silently… but then she has to just leave the body where it is and hope nobody comes across it (they will absolutely come across it). Nix, Kay’s animal buddy, is the primary stealth tool, but he isn’t as useful as one might imagine. Yes, Nix can do things like set off explosive barrels from a distance, but that usually ended up making more trouble for me instead of helping (as swarms of curious guards arrived to check out the blast, making it that much harder to find a place to actually hide). Nix is most useful in luring guards away from their posts so you can silently take them down, but he can only distract one at a time, and the controls for doing it are often tediously frustrating to get just right.
Quitting the game and booting it back up solved the issue immediately, however, and I haven’t seen it resurface in the days since. The only other issues I encountered were some instances of pop-in while exploring the open areas, both with complete objects and some textures, and I noticed that the icons for unlocked characters are weirdly blurry on the “level complete” menu. I’m not really someone who is bothered by technical stuff like this, and, for me, the tradeoff feels more than worth it when I get to play LEGO Star Wars on the go. However, if you are a gamer who cannot live with the occasional weird texture issue, and the thought of stuttering cutscenes and pop-in is absolutely unbearable, being tethered to your monitor on another console or your PC might be your best bet.

Game 2 world series
Hernández and Freeman are the second set of Dodgers to hit back-to-back homers in the World Series, joining Pedro Guerrero and Steve Yeager in Game 5 in 1981. That, of course, came against the Yankees as well. Dating back to 2021, Freeman now has a four-game homer streak in the postseason. Only George Springer (five games from 2017-19) has a longer streak.
They won Game 2 of the World Series, 4-2, over the New York Yankees to take a two games to none series lead. But they lost superstar Shohei Ohtani to a left shoulder injury on a stolen-base attempt in the seventh inning.
The Dodgers hope to get similar length from Game 2 starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto that they got from Jack Flaherty, who pitched into the sixth in the opener. There’s an off-day after Game 2, but with a bullpen day looming in the middle of the Series, the Dodgers don’t want to overexpose their relievers.
With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Yankees manager Aaron Boone is making a pitching change. Jake Cousins has taken over for Carlos Rodón after Rodón surrendered six hits and four runs over 3.1 innings of work.
What is the best game in the world
Before you can catch all 151 Pokémon, Pokémon Yellow first teaches you how to respect and care for the sometimes temperamental creatures. The game takes all the best elements from Pokémon Red and Blue and upgrades it to make it feel more like the anime. The best change to the originals, of course, was a Pikachu following you around on your journey. Suddenly, the Pokémon weren’t just creatures you summoned for battle; they become emotional creatures that accompany on your adventure. They’re no longer just fighters you bring along. The small story elements that link Pokémon Yellow back to the anime were a fun way to let the player relive the beginning of Ash’s journey, but ultimately, Pokémon Yellow is simply one of the best ways to experience the Pokémon universe – it’s as simple as that. – Miranda Sanchez (Read Our Review)
Tears of the Kingdom feels like someone holding my hands very close as they lean in to whisper, with eyes twinkling, “Can I tell you something?” The ride was wild; I laughed, I cried. And I can’t wait for the next time, when it’s completely different. —M. Myers
At the heart of Viewfinder is a magic trick that never gets old: You take a photo of the environment and paste that perspective into the game world to create a bridge or reveal a needed trinket. The experience of seeing reality distorted by your hands so easily is nearly on the level of thinking with Portals for the first time. You’ll ponder a solution for minutes, sure it’s impossible and that the developers must have made a mistake, before you’re struck by a eureka moment like a lightning bolt.
The second installment of Square Enix’s ambitious three-part remake of Final Fantasy VII immediately follows Final Fantasy VII: Remake (2020) and picks up with Cloud Strife and the eco-terrorist group AVALANCE as they take on Shinra Power Company that’s draining the planet’s life energy. But Shinra has an ace up their sleeve: their solider Sephiroth, long thought dead, is alive and intent on achieving godhood. Much like Remake and the ’97 original, there’s a lot of lore involved in the narrative, and while the combat is fast-paced and responsive in a nice switch-up from command inputs of the original game, Rebirth does require patience. Newcomers to the franchise may be surprised by the number of cutscenes and dialogue-heavy encounters but they all serve to make the world richer.
AKA the “vania” in the Metroidvania genre that’s defined every major noughties indie hit of note from Hollow Knight to Dead Cells, as well as Hideo Miyazaki’s Souls franchise, Symphony Of The Night deserves better than to be known for all the classics it inspired. If nothing else, it still boasts one of gaming’s most iconic plot twists, while whipping your way through Dracula’s undead hordes remains bloody brilliant fun.
